First Overall Win
The construction and homologation of 25 917's during 30 days in 1969 for use in the 1970 FIA championship series must go down in automotive history as one of the greatest feats of all time. Used to great advantage by the Gulf-Wyer team, Porsche at last had its long-sought overall win at the 24-hour classic over Ferrari in 1970.
This painting measures 18" x 24" and was completed as a directed commission. The roadway and Armco barrier are extended onto the deep, single-stage black matte drawing the eye into the primary image area.
