'79 Le Mans Barbour/Stommelen/Newman Car

This is the Dick Barbour / Rolf Stommelen / Paul Newman 935 constructed by Garretson Enterprises in Mountain View, CA for the 1979 IMSA Series, shown in the paddock at the 1979 24 Heures du Mans. The car scored an impressive class win and almost won the event overall, finishing 2nd to the 935K3 of Klaus Ludwig and the Whittington Brothers. 1979 marked the first year a 911-based car won Le Mans outright.


This painting measures 18" x 24" and was completed as a self-promotional piece, awarded as a door prize at the Zone 7 PCA 2000 Competition Season Awards Banquet in 2001.
